Proverbs 11:17
Imagine you are physically fighting with someone.
Your opponent is bigger, stronger, and faster than you.
He seems to be having his way with you.

Do you feel outmatched and overwhelmed?
Does the referee appear to be oblivious to your plight?
It is a very unpleasant experience.
You suffer an embarrassing loss.

Now imagine being on the positive side.

You have gained the upper-hand.
You are destroying your opponent.
Your opponent begins to beg for mercy.

What do you do?

Proverbs 11:17 (NKJV) says, "The merciful man does good for his own soul, But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh."

In every battle of life, our spiritual adversary, the devil, is bent on destroying us, and he often influences real people to be his fighters, inflicting pain upon us. However, Jesus Christ has already defeated the devil and now sits on His throne undefeated as the Righteous Judge over us all.

The next time you are in a fight, trust Jesus to guide your actions. He will teach you how to be both victorious and merciful, for God's glory.

God bless you, in Jesus' name!
